You can set it so when left alone the computer will boot to the OS you want to be the default with out in put from the user. In cases where there is an operating system that is on a partition but not in the boot menu it will let you add it to the menu just by selection it and clicking add. It's essential to remove an OS from the boot menu before uninstalling it and EasyBCD lets you do that by just clicking on remove. What is does that's helpful is to easily set what operating systems come up in the boot menu and in what order. It essentially give you a graphic interface instead of using the bcdedit command at the prompt.

If I have to start again then so be it, but I know this triple boot is possible as I've been running it the past 2-3 years.I always have it installed if I have a dual boot setup but I don't have to actually use it often. I got this error or similar on previous format incidents but somehow stumbled my way through it. I've only just reinstalled WinXP an hour or so ago. Info: the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt. When I select to boot to WinXP it tells me: This didn't work.īoth Win 7 partitions boot but not WinXP. I go to bootloader setup & install win vista/7 bootloader to MBR. I go to BCD backup/repair & change boot drive to WinXP. I open EasyBCD in the final Win7 install, arrange the partitions in order, arrange to have WinXP as the boot device & restart. I installed WinXP first followed by 2 lots of Win7. I have a triple boot of 2 lots of Windows 7 (please don't waste time asking) & 1 lot of Windows XP (please don't waste time talking about it being dated). I've had to format 2 or 3 times before this in the past 2-3 years & every single time I've had trouble with this but this time I really can't remember how to do it right.
